Over the last year or so DMS has been working very hard to support a particular gentleman, Alex Campbell, an extraordinary person. He put a simple question to us, “he wants to drive his Mini”!! The challenge, Alex is blind, yeah that’s a challenge however one that can be overcome. As you can see from the pictures Alex built a dual steering system for his Mini, beautifully engineered. To assist with safety Disability Motorsport Scotland contacted He-Man Dual Controls, what can I say, they are a wonderful company they supplied and fitted us with dual foot controls for the passenger, linked to the driver. Alex has now become a very valued DMS board member with a vast knowledge of social care and visual impairment, watch this space for updates on Alex’s journey.
